Our Inception
Why SSED was established
SSED emerged from a practical development challenge: strategic opportunities often require more than policy support, investor interest or technical expertise in isolation. Without a structured coordination layer, promising initiatives can remain fragmented or fail to move from discussion into implementation.
SSED was established to operate within that coordination gap—preparing opportunities, organising partnerships, maintaining engagement and supporting the transition from strategic intent to practical execution. This complements existing public and private institutions rather than duplicating their functions.

Policy authority, regulatory oversight and sovereign decision-making remain with the Government of Seychelles and its duly mandated institutions.
